Conference Site: Hotel La Palma

Hotel Reservation Cut-Off Date: April 17th, 2009

We strongly encourage SACMAT participants to reserve the room by using the online booking service of Hotel La Palma. "SACMAT09" has to be inserted into the "note" field as a group code. Rooms must be booked by April 17th, 2009. After this date, bookings will be possible only depending on availability.

All prices are per person, including service and garage included, nettohotel, 10% Vat Tax not included. All rooms have private bath with Jacuzzi, telephone, radio, satellite TV and pay per view, ADSL Internet Connection, mini-bar, air-condition and terrace.

Transportation

From Malpensa Airport

This is the best option. From the Malpensa airport you can reach Stresa by shuttle bus, car, taxi and trains.

By Shuttle Bus (50 mins): From Milan Malpensa Airport you take the bus service called ALIBUS SERVICE, which directly connects the airport to Stresa (and vice versa). ALIBUS SERVICE must be booked at least the day before the arrival in Italy, by 12.00 am local time - If not booked the service is not guaranteed to run. Please, find here more details. The bus will stop in Marconi square, when possible the driver will help you with a special stop near the hotel. Otherwise, it is about 5 mins by walk (see here).

By car (varying based on traffic, minimum 50 mins): Route from Malpensa Airport to Stresa.

By taxi (varying based on traffic, minimum 50 mins): it costs approximately 95 euro (regular taxi) or 120 euro (Mini van - max four persons)

By train (about 120 mins): You take the Malpensa express (see the timetable ) stop at Milano Cadorna (the last stop). Trains going to Stresa leave from Milan Central Station (Stazione Centrale). To get to Milan Central Station (Stazione Centrale), from Cadorna you take the green line of subway with the directions Cologno, Gobba or Gessate, and stop at 5th stop (Centrale Fs). Here you take the train with direction Stresa. (see the timetable).

From Linate Airport

From Linate airport you can reach Stresa by car, taxi and train.

By car (varying based on traffic, minimum 90 mins): Route from Linate Airport to Stresa.

By taxi (varying based on traffic, minimum 90 mins): it costs approximately 155 euro (regular taxi) or 180 euro (Mini van - max four persons)

By train (about 90mins): Linate airport is connected to the Milan Central Station (Stazione Centrale), with a bus service managed by STARFLY. From Central Station a frequent train service guarantees connection with Stresa (see timetable).
