The conference will take place in the New Computer Science building at Stony Brook University. Stony Brook University is located about 90 km east of Manhattan. It is easily accessible by train on the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) and by car. LIRR's Stony Brook Station is on the edge of campus, a 15-minute walk from the venue.
The most convenient accommodation is at the Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook. It is located on campus, a 5-minute walk from the conference venue.

The restaurant in the Hilton Garden Inn is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Several other restaurants are also within walking distance. Walk to the Stony Brook LIRR station (about 15 minutes from the New CS Building, or 20 minutes from the Hilton Garden Inn) and cross the street (Route 25A). About a dozen restaurants are within two blocks of there, to the left and right. See your favorite Maps app for details.
Eduroam is available throughout campus. Another option is to create an account on WolfieNet-Guest; this requires being able to receive a verification message sent to the email address that you provide.
If you would like to take a walk, I suggest the Ashley Schiff Preserve. An entrance to one of the walking trails (the white trail) is a 6-minute walk from the New Computer Science (NCS) Building. The entrance is at the intersection of Lake Drive and Circle Road, across the street from the end of Lake Drive. Here are walking directions from NCS to the trailhead.
We will be dropped off at Danford's arrive about an hour before the banquet starts at 6:45pm. During that time, you might want to walk through downtown Port Jefferson to see the small shops along and near East Main Street, walk along the docks of the Port Jefferson Marina (on the other side of the ferry terminal), or walk along the beach. Here are walking directions from Danfords to the beach.
Long Island is a great place to explore. Nearby attractions include Avalon Nature Preserve, West Meadow Beach, the Long Island Museum, and Stony Brook Village. All are within a 10-minute drive or car ride from campus.
